In Italy the Minister of Education Maria Stella Gelmini and the Minister of Defence Ignazio La Russa started working in September 2010 on an agreement protocol aiming to set up military courses within schools. This initiative, named ‘Trained for life’, gives leave to general perplexity, considering that in the Italian education system the importance of intensifying the instruction of peaceful arts, that stimulate creativity, is neglected.
