Rice, glass

Who we are is a concept that has gone through the entire history of philosophy. The ideogram ‘To be’ (Essere) is carved in a canvas sunk in rice. Ayurveda suggests we are what we eat. Currently the culture of food is dominant in today’s society, as a transposition of the fruition of consumer goods mania. The interclass and intercultural, nourishment of rice epitomises this compulsion that satisfying our senses, gives us the illusion of giving meaning to who we are.
