CANDY

30cm x 30cm - 2010

Candy sweets

The word ‘candy’ comes from the old French çucre candi, derived in turn from Arabic and Persian qand, ‘sugar cane’. Sweets on canvas therefore recreate the stick that originated them, reassembling in the mass production cane-shaped form. The pastoral stick, alluding to guidance, suggests that leadership is much more persuasive when sweet. The painting sweetly took part in the fund raising auction of Arte Accessibile for Museum Paolo Pini in Milan.
